What is VDSG and who are we?
The Vietnam Development Studies Group is a group of students and professionals who are interested in the development of Vietnam. The group aims at creating a network of support and resource to be adapted to each member’s needs.
So far, we have organised two seminars, one on the poverty reduction strategies of Vietnam and the other on communications in development (ICT). The seminars produced fruitful discussions which enhanced participants’ individual learning and could hopefully contribute to our future development work.
Other than academic seminars, we are also looking at organising charity and cultural events to raise awareness about Vietnam as well as contribute in a practical way to development. We also host friendly gatherings, such as BBQ and camping, as we find these informal occasions to be best networking opportunities.
We hope the network not only maintains in Australia but extends further once each of us goes back and looks for cooperation opportunities in Vietnam.
